Normally at this time of year, Arthritis Research Canada would be sharing the results of dollars raised at our annual, signature event, the ARThritis Soirée. As our sole fundraising event, it has been a very important evening for creating awareness and raising funds to support life-saving arthritis research, and helping over 6 million Canadians, young and old, affected by arthritis.

As we all know, there is nothing normal about this time. As the COVID-19 pandemic began to unfold, it became clear that the 2020 ARThritis Soirée would not be proceeding and the event was cancelled.

We are therefore deeply grateful for the leadership of our Presenting Sponsor Macdonald Realty – who like the other sponsors you see here – have been standing by us during this difficult time and are committed to seeing life-changing arthritis research continue.

The COVID-19 pandemic created specific concerns for people with arthritis. As the leading research organization in the country, Arthritis Research Canada’s scientific team began responding immediately by adjusting our face-to-face studies to conducting through online formats, ensuring that our research did not lose momentum; and by developing and adapting our research to gain a better understanding of how the pandemic is impacting the lives of people with arthritis.
