5 Research Studies to Watch in 2026

Arthritis doesn’t just affect joints. It affects how people work, parent, move, and live. For over 25 years, Arthritis Research Canada has turned that reality into research that changes it.

With more than 200 active studies underway, our scientists work across arthritis and rheumatic diseases, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and vasculitis, to improve how these conditions are prevented, diagnosed, and treated.

These are five studies that show what that looks like in practice: research designed around real people, real questions, and real gaps in care.
