Event Name: MOVE with Arthritis Research
Event Date: September 16 – 30, 2026
30 minutes a day for two weeks. Real impact for people living with arthritis and related rheumatic diseases across Canada.
For more than a decade, the ARThritis Soirée brought together a dedicated community of individuals who understand that research is the only path to better treatments, earlier diagnosis, and real progress for people living with arthritis and related autoimmune rheumatic diseases across Canada. From 2013 to 2025, this annual Vancouver event united sponsors, donors, artists, and supporters in celebration of arthritis research and a shared commitment to advancing it.
The Soirée was the vision of Naz Panahi, a donor, past Arthritis Research Canada board member, and relentless champion for arthritis research whose leadership as Event Chair inspired everyone who worked alongside her. Her dedication was recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals through their Giving Hearts Award for philanthropic leadership.
The final Soirée in 2025 raised over $440,000, bringing the event’s legacy full circle. It was an evening of impact, gratitude, and collective belief in the power of research to change lives.
Over the years, the Soirée raised more than $4 million, funding the studies that proved new treatments work, building the tools that help clinicians make better decisions, and creating the evidence that turned pain and uncertainty into pathways forward for millions of Canadians living with arthritis.
To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, or championed the Soirée over the years: thank you. Your generosity helped build the foundation for the work we continue today.
