Michelle Tice (she/her)

Executive Director

Michelle brings a wealth of experience from the non-profit, corporate, and public sectors to her role as Executive Director at Arthritis Research Canada. Additionally, she holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.

With more than 30 years in senior leadership positions, she has held key roles at Intrawest Corporation, Family Services of the North Shore, viaSport British Columbia, West Point Grey Academy, Maple Bear Global Schools, and most recently, the BC Cancer Foundation.

Throughout her career, Michelle has demonstrated a strong track record in strategic planning, fundraising, government relations, and marketing and communications. Her cross-sector experience has equipped her with the ability to develop and lead innovative, purpose-driven initiatives that enhance brand awareness, strengthen engagement, and drive sustainable growth.

Michelle is known for her collaborative leadership style and her passion for building strong, values-based organizations. Her commitment to impact and innovation aligns closely with Arthritis Research Canada’s mission to transform the lives of people living with arthritis through patient-centred research and engagement.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and leading an active lifestyle.

Hannah Hashimoto (she/her)

Hannah Hashimoto (she/her)

Director of Development

Hannah brings over 14 years of experience in fundraising strategy, campaign leadership, and advancement operations across healthcare, higher education, and the non-profit sector. As Director of Development at Arthritis Research Canada, she leads strategic fundraising initiatives that strengthen donor engagement, support innovative research, and drive sustainable philanthropic growth.

Prior to joining Arthritis Research Canada, Hannah served as Director of Development Operations at the BC Cancer Foundation. In this role, she oversaw Campaign & Development Operations, Prospect Research, and Database and Business Intelligence, playing a central role in the Foundation’s $500 million province-wide fundraising campaign. Her work was instrumental in shaping campaign strategy, aligning teams across departments and regions, and modernizing systems and processes to enable long-term growth and impact.

Hannah’s advancement career began at the University of British Columbia, where she spent over a decade in roles across the Faculties of Education and Medicine, as well as in the central Development and Alumni Engagement office. These experiences shaped her collaborative, data-informed leadership style and deep commitment to donor-centred philanthropy.

Known for her strategic thinking, operational insight, and inclusive approach, Hannah is dedicated to advancing organizations through thoughtful, integrated leadership across strategy, systems, and people. Her work supports Arthritis Research Canada’s goal of improving the lives of people living with arthritis through world-class, patient-focused research.
