A Patient’s View of Using Social Media

Kelly English is a consumer/patient living in British Columbia, Canada, with rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes. She is a social media enthusiast who has been an active member of online arthritis support groups for over 16 years.

Kelly was invited to speak at Reaching Out with Arthritis Research (ROAR): ‘Does a Google a Day Keep the Doctor Away?’ on November 30, 2013. ROAR is an interactive public forum for patients, healthcare professionals and researchers, which is hosted annually by the Patient Advisory Board of the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada.
