Michael McDonald is Professor Emeritus of Applied Ethics and the founding director of W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics, School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Prof. McDonald is also a co-investigator of the ‘Exploring E-health Ethics & Multi-Morbidity’ project, co-led by Prof. Catherine Backman (Head of Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at UBC) and Dr. Anne Townsend (Research Associate at the Dept. of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at UBC). Funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, this study focuses on the role and impact of e-health on chronic illness and management.
Through his involvement as a co-investigator, Prof. McDonald was invited to speak at Reaching Out with Arthritis Research (ROAR): ‘Does a Google a Day Keep the Doctor Away?’ on November 30, 2013. ROAR is an interactive public forum for patients, healthcare professionals and researchers, which is hosted annually by the Patient Advisory Board of the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada.
