Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)

As the Government of Canada’s health research investment agency, CIHR enables the creation of evidence-based knowledge and its transformation into improved treatments, prevention and diagnoses, new products and services, and a stronger, patient-oriented health-care system. Composed of 13 internationally recognized Institutes, CIHR supports more than 13,000 health researchers and trainees across Canada.

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada (CCC)

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the only national, volunteer-based charity focused on finding the cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the lives of children and adults affected by these diseases. Crohn’s and Colitis Canada has recently developed a research strategy which also recognizes the importance of supporting research that improves the lives of people living with Crohn’s and colitis. This will ensure that patients are getting the best care and are better able to manage their disease and its symptoms.
