Vancouver (May 19, 2026) — Arthritis Research Canada recently welcomed rheumatologist Dr. Lihi Eder to the organization’s growing team of research scientists. Dr. Eder is an Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto, and a highly accomplished scientist at Women’s College Research Institute. She is the first member of our scientific team working in Toronto, Ontario. She is also the Director of the Psoriatic Arthritis program and co-Director of the Cardio-Rheumatology Program at the University of Toronto and at Women’s College Hospital.
Her research focuses on improving early detection and treatment of psoriatic arthritis, understanding how sex and gender influence disease outcomes, and reducing cardiovascular risks in people living with rheumatic diseases. Over the course of her career, Dr. Eder has authored more than 210 peer-reviewed publications and held leadership roles with several rheumatology and psoriasis organizations, including the international Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA), and the Canadian Rheumatology Ultrasound Society.
Her work has earned numerous honours, including the Canadian Rheumatology Association’s Emerging Investigator Award and the Mid-Career Excellence in Women’s Health Research Award.
