Raison de la recherche
Ce projet s’appuie sur un partenariat de dix ans qui réunit chercheurs, patients et cliniciens pour améliorer la santé des personnes atteintes de polyarthrite rhumatoïde. Nous voulions déterminer si nous pouvions améliorer la prise en charge personnelle chez les personnes atteintes de polyarthrite rhumatoïde grâce à une intervention en ligne. Cette intervention comprenait des conseils prodigués à distance par un physiothérapeute et l’utilisation d’une application appelée OPERAS ( O n-demand P rogram to E mpowe R A ctive S elf-management ) .
La prise en charge personnelle renvoie à la capacité de gérer les symptômes et les traitements liés à la vie avec une maladie chronique telle que la polyarthrite rhumatoïde. Elle comprend certains des éléments suivants :

Nous avons divisé les participants en deux groupes. Un groupe a reçu l’intervention immédiatement, et l’autre groupe l’a reçue 27 semaines plus tard. L’intervention comportait trois volets :
