Are you an Albertan with osteoarthritis? We want to hear from you!
Start and end date:
Recruitment for the study is underway and we expect to continue until June 2021.
Why do this research?
By 2040, 25% of Canadians will have osteoarthritis. Many factors affect how people take care of their osteoarthritis. It is important to understand what matters to patients when designing programs to help patients manage their osteoarthritis.
What will be done?
The purpose of the study is to get an in-depth understanding of what matters to people in taking care of their osteoarthritis. It will also explore who and what people believe influences their osteoarthritis.
Participation in this study involves:
- Completing a brief pre-interview survey online
- Participating in a one-hour interview via Zoom
Participants will receive a $10 gift card in thanks for their participation.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Live in Alberta
- Have been told by your doctor that you have hip and/or knee osteoarthritis
- Have at least one osteoarthritic joint that has not undergone replacement surgery
How do people get involved?
Your participation in this study is voluntary and there are no foreseeable risks that are associated with this study. You will be asked to fill out a consent form before participating.
