Templates are outlines that organizations can adopt to standardize the way they communicate and record, store and disseminate information. The main purpose of this document is to consolidate information in a standard format that ensures the information can be understood by those who receive it.

In order to encourage better understanding of research information, CAB has produced a research summary template that scientists can use to write up their research for the general public. Using this template provides familiarity of information format; thereby reinforcing “recognition” of material and contributing to ease of comprehension. The use of headings and subheadings organizes the information into some rational order and helps speed recognition of what the page contains.
